We built a custom designed 60,000 BPH scale that consists of two 12′ diameter hoppers that act as the weigh hopper and lower garner. These hoppers are housed in a concrete bin where the upper part of the bin acts as the scale upper garner. Height of scale including the 4′ transition to the concrete upper garner is 26′-6″.

System was supplied with automatic test weight lifting, Class II, Group G hydraulic power unit and lower garner gate.

The scale is controlled by the top of the line GMS-4000 controller including:

SmartTech that automatically monitors the scale for correct operation
SmartLoad that ensures that the scale continues to run while a new car is positioned under the spout
SmartRead that reads the rail car RF tags and calculates the optimum amount to load into the car.
